Harvest Close Festivities (Recap from 1-27-23)
(Miresen the 6th of Fessuran) The party, after a very exciting twenty four hours, headed back to The Forest Inn for a long rest. The party was still going strong, though there were more passed out people in the streets, and others with the beginning of a really terrible hangover, the fuse carts were making their rounds passing out fuse (the local "hair-of-the-dog") to the more partied-out patrons.
The Party saw Starosta Kosh heading roughly toward The Forest Inn with Ormila Grimboodle, one of the deep gnome Grimboodle sisters (the more friendly less scary one) Bryce was following a few paces behind. As the party came to the inn after a long eventful day, they entered to the singing of Isomyras soft voice sining the ballad of “The Rape of Veluthil Forest” (better known as the Savalirwood (Elvish for “Guilt”)). The group can feel the longing for home in Isomyras voice as she sings. They saw Kosh and Ormila going up the stairs for the night. After this the heroes finish their drinks and returns to their rooms for much needed long rest.
(Grissen the 7th of Fessuran) In the Morning as the party is stirring Abnar and Elmo enjoy a pipe full of “Morning Comfort" pipeweed by the hearth in Abnars room. Slowly the party stirs and one or two at a time make their way to breakfast down stairs, the smell of fresh baked bread, fried bacon, and eggs, greeting them from below along with the sounds of patrons eating breakfast and planning their days. The Party all met down stairs to have food.
Alice McKinnon quietly approached Abnar (Who had made a donation to the orphanage in the past) about possibly helping with ideas on where to place the four teenagers that are aging out, by Dwendallian law, they either apprentice with farmers or craftsmen, or are sent to the infantry in bladegarden to fight for the empire. With the possibility of war on the horizon Alice is worried about sending them to Bladgarden as cannon fodder for King Dwendal, and would rather see them apprenticed so they could learn a trade. These particular four were orphaned during the war of ash and light, and both Alice and Valrali knew the horrors of war all too well. Abnar agreed to try and find apprenticeship for them and sent Svela to the Lair with a sending stone for Roguun.
After breakfast the party went back to the harvest close festivities and played some games, won some money, lost some money, got some prizes and treats such as candied apples. They failed to see starosta kosh or urmila, but did see the orphans, Alice, and Valrali on the festival grounds. The two also thanked the party for paying for their rooms for the extra day as Starosta Kosh decided to extend his stay in Hupperdook. The party browsed the merchant tents and found pumont sol’s traveling ”Invulnerable Vagrant '' bringing magical wares to harvest close at Hupperdook. After shopping they went back to the inn to eat supper and enjoy some relaxation. They saw servants carrying food trays up the stairs to the rooms but haven't seen Kosh or Ormila. They made preparations for departure for Grimgolir the next morning.
(This week's Kobold mining activity yielded a rare find of a vein of Azurite, a glowing blue ore with residual magical energy either leftover from the cataclysm or exposure to lay energies, no one was 100% sure, refined it could act as any spell component. The kobolds extracted 1400 gp worth of azurite ore. Divided among the members)
