Nicodranas (Recap of session 11-11-2022)
This is my imagining of the Critical Role world of Exandria, and my maiden voyage into DM'ing Dungeons and Dragons 5e. I haven't DM'ed since ADnD 1e back in the 80's. I hope I do a good job. My Campaign starts 10 years after the adventures of the Mighty Nein of Critical Role's Campaign 2 in the Marrow Valley. If you are interested in exploring this world with me. send me a message on DnD Beyond at https://www.dndbeyond.com/members/Johnny2136
(Da'Leysen the 21st of Brussundir) The party decided to do some shopping and bought some healing potions and a bunch of sending stones before checking the arrival time for the sky ship from Marquet. Abnar Invictus found and managed to buy back his family's heirloom dagger, that his squire had taken when he thought Abnar was dead, he pawned the dagger to buy food and lodging. Corin bought an amulet of identify to aid in identification of magic items. The party then went back to The Lavish Chateau and had dinner. Before long a messenger brought word that the sky ship had arrived early and was docked at the sky tower. The party helped Marasil get her belongings transported to the sky ship, and she was excited to begin her trip to Marquet. When they arrived the group found an "unusual cargo" waiting at the sky tower, in the form of some crates and trunks labeled for The Sleepy Pillow in Alfield, with a pretty young lady sitting on top. She introduced herself to the group as Lyquin Herwell, a student bard from the college of courtesans, who is traveling to a temporary post at "The Sleepy Pillow" for further training under Madam Nora Milbourne and Lady Arabella. She is also tasked with filling in as chef, while Marasil is away visiting Marquet.
(Grissen the 22nd of Brussundir) The party encountered a bandit in the market square pretending to be a fruit seller, but with blood smeared on the cart and rotten bruised produce he was pushing. Having no direct evidence, they couldn't really do anything but warn the Zhelezo at the main gate.
(Whelson the 23rd of Brussundir) As they took off with a caravan leaving Nicodranas heading out toward Trostenwald, this caravan had hired four Righteous Brand guards along with the party for protection. The caravan had some minor encounters and then successfully went past the ettin camp without combat.
(Conthsen the 24th of Brussundir) The next day of travel, the party saw a cart being pushed off the road by four rough looking men, who were actually slavers working for the Drow in the Underdark. In the cart was Cordon Highfoot, a halfling spy for the Cerberus assembly, and Alosrin Grelee, an elven bard both being taken as slaves, after fighting and killing the slavers the prisoners were set free. The bard conducted several jam sessions with Lyquin, though he was slightly more skilled at performing than she was. The two ex-captives were very happy to be released from the slavers who were in the process of delivering them to the Drow in the underdark. Later in the day the party met a blacksmith also traveling to Trostenwald who wanted protection from the bandits. He offered to pay the party 25 gp each to allow him to come along with the caravan for protection.
That night on Malliks watch he met a demon posing as Asmodeus wanting to play a dice game, if Mallik wins, he gets a grand prize, if not he must do a favor for the demon. When mallik declined the demon vanished with a poof of sulfur smelling smoke. Later that night during Corin's watch, he saw a sad woman sitting on a large rock beside the road. But when the watch changed the woman had disappeared or moved along.
As the group started travelling again a short while into the trip on (Folsen the 25th of Brussundir) Corin saw a red gemstone lying in the road. As he picked it up the gem dissipated and Corin was transformed into a talking red gemstone for 36 days or until "remove curse" was used. Shocking the party.
