Travel to Grimgolir (Recap from 2-03-23)
The party, after enjoying Harvest Close Festival, had a long rest back at The Forest Inn. The party accompanied by Yirna and Eldreth got an early start on their journey toward Grimgolier.
(Conthsen the 9th of Fessuran) The first day the group had no encounters, but Svela, flying on a Broom of Flying, spotted a hidden cache sack with 170gp, while they were looking for a campsite. That night during the last watch, an Orc Raiding party riding giant boars attacked after a short battle, the party vanquished the Orcs. The party collected a bunch of boar meat and six pairs of giant boar tusks, six giant boar skins, and 25 gp 230 sp 300 cp from the raiders.
(Folsen the 10th of Fessuran) The next day having used many spells and needing to rest another day, the party stayed in their same camp. Being careful to keep watch out for monsters and raiders, they had no further encounters the rest of the day, and that night they also had no encounters.
(Yulisen the 11th of Fessuran) The party takes off the next day and encounters a group of traveling merchants, dressed in the garb of clerics of the Raven Queen. They are transporting a large cage full of ravens. They offer to sell the party ravens for 1 gp each. They claim the Ravens are blessed and can carry prayers to the Raven Queen. This encounter happens late in the day as the group is looking for a campsite. They decide to share a campsite, a meal and some blood wine with the clerics. That night there were no unusual encounters.
(Da’Leysen the 12th of Fessuran) The next day the group had no unusual encounters, However, a member of the party did spot a log in a rolling grassy plain with no trees anywhere close by, investigating they find a small chest with, 1500 cp, 60 ep, a flask of oil (1sp), and a small meteorite. Later they found a good campsite. The group set up a watch cycle and rested on the open plain, having no encounters that night.
(Miresen the 13th of Fessuran) Day five of the trip, early in the afternoon, the party came across a group of men on the side of the road taking a break and talking about the war with the Kryn, one of them asked the righteous brand soldiers escorting them, what combat was really like. There were six men and two righteous brand soldiers escorting them. They explain they are taking new recruits to Bladgarden for training, and were bypassing the Crispvale Thicket due to rumors of undead in the forest. After a brief conversation the soldiers and their recruits bid the party farewell and continue their journey. That night the party finds a campsite and has a long rest with no encounters.
(Grissen the 14th of Fessuran) The next day the group has an uneventful day of easy travel with no encounters. They find a camp space and had no encounters during the night.
(Whelson the 15th of Fessuran) The seventh travel day the group has no encounters, but Mallik sees a skeletal finger sticking out of the ground grasping a boulder. The party finds a well hidden skeletal body with a handy haversack still strapped to its back. Inside was 3,506 gp in coinage: (60pp, 2,200gp, 7,000sp, 600cp), and 250gp value art objects (×5; worth 1,250gp total): (Silk robe with gold embroidery, Silver necklace with a gemstone pendant, Brass mug with jade inlay, Large gold bracelet, Large well-made tapestry of the Moon weaver.) They find a camp sight and set up watches around the second watch, the camp is attacked by a horde of zombies. After a heated battle, the party destroyed the undead creatures, and discovered the zombie ogers had two sacks, one with 2 pp 17 gp, 125 sp, and the other with two 300 gp Diamonds.
(Conthsen the 16th of Fessuran) After an uneventful travel day late in the afternoon the party encounters a small abandoned farmstead inside the barn the party finds a slaughtered family, their ghosts linger unable to find rest after being slaughtered by a horde of zombies. The party ensured the families corpses were laid to rest. After which they sought shelter in the family's farm house, and stabled their horses in the barn. The spirit of the slain teenage girl, possessed Svela who then walked outside, as if in a trance, and pointed to the well. In the voice of the little girl, she says, “Thank thee strangers for the kindness shown unto my family, thy reward lies yonder.” Pointing to a loose stone at the base of the well. The spirit giggled and departed leaving Svela confused at why she was standing outside? In the distance the party saw four ghostly shapes slowly fading into the distance. The party looked under the loose stone by the well. It containing a bronze box, with 1500 cp, 600 sp, 60 gp, a Potion of animal friendship, and Ring of swimming, along with a small pouch with three gemstones at 10 gp each for a total of 30 gp: [Azurite (opaque mottled deep blue), Rhodochrosite (opaque light pink), Banded agate (translucent striped red)]. There were no further encounters that evening.
(Folsen the 17th of Fessuran) The next day was an easy day's travel to Grimgolir. That evening as the day closes the party finally arrives at Grimgolier’s outpost village as the dusk deepens, the gates close at dusk, so the party had to stay in the town inn. The innkeeper recognizing Eldeth gives everyone free rooms for the night. As well as free ale for some odd reason.
(The Kobolds mining efforts this week were successful yielding platinum ingots totalling 2200gp divided up amongst the party.)
