Vekynvelve and Back(Recap from 1-13-23)

(Whelson the 1st of Fessuran) The party had a long rest in a side cavern close to outpost Vekynvelve. Waiting there until there was minimal activity in the outpost, Mallik climbed up and secured a rope. The rest of the party started the climb up but as some of the armored members were climbing they made a noise alerting the guards. After a very quick combat in which both guards were killed before they could sound an alarm, the party managed to sneak around the outpost finding a few drow up in the recreation area and a couple drow in the soldiers barracks in meditation, as well as some of their servants cleaning the elite drow barracks.



Deciding to try and get to the prisoner holding area they went through the watchtower carved into one of the four 20+ meter thick stalactites, and combat ensued with the two normal drow who went down very quickly but the elite commander was a bit of a challenge for the party. After the combat, they freed the prisoners and started to leave. Yirna the Centaur begged the party to find her longbow as it was a family heirloom, she knew Ilvara the Outpost commander kept it in a chest in her quarters in the largest of the 4 hollowed out stalactites, Also the shield dwarf Eldeth who was part of Yirnas original party wanted her shield that was taken by Ilvara.

The party agreed to try and retrieve these items so the party entered the Shrine to Lolth. They saw the VERY life-like statue of a large spider on a column in the center of the room and cast burning hands catching the Shrine on fire and angering the giant spider hiding behind the altar who attacked. The party vanquished the spider, and looted the jet eyes of the burned spider statue four large at 10 gp each, and four small at 5 gp each (these are cursed by desecrating Lolth's Shrine). There were also two elaborate silver candle holders worth 100 gp each with large pillar black candles. The combat interrupted an intimate encounter between Ilvara and Shoor who readied themselves for combat, Malick looked down the trap door in the floor and saw only inky blackness. Combat continued, after a couple rounds Ilvara became concerned and bampfed out saying in sylvan “Shoor, teach these fools a lesson!” Shoor fought hard but seeing that he was out matched Yelled “You will pay for this sacrilege!” and also bamphed out. Mallik failed to pick the lock and was poisoned and fell unconscious, Abnar took a different approach and bashed the chest open revealing Yirnas Bow, Eldeth’s Shield and a variety of silken garments and personal items. There is a silver chain headdress set with small onyx stones, worth 500 gp, and a drawstring bag containing two potions of healing. A small leather purse contains 240 gp, 300 sp, and a small moonstone worth 200 gp, while another purse is Ilvara's spare spell component pouch. On a side table there was a small silver-framed mirror worth 100 gp. The small shrine to Lolth is carved of zurkhwood and bone, and inlaid with semiprecious stones. It is worth 500 gp (if the characters can find a buyer for it.)

The party made their escape using the basket lift, after a close call that nearly dropped a group of adventurers riding in the basket. Luckly Abnar and Grok were able to stop the fall, and finish getting the party to the cavern floor. After that he and Grok climbed down and set the ropes to the lift on fire to stall pursuit. The party went off in the direction of the caverns they came down from the Hucksters Hero's Lair. and after traveling for a day looked for a suitable stealth camp. They camped at the elevated gallery and got an early start the next morning encountering Fire Beetles which the party again had gotten surprise, and killed them all without the beetles getting a turn. The group used the fire beetle's bodies as lanterns, some of them lasting up to 6 days.

(Conthsen the 2nd of Fessuran) The second day on the journey home after the fire beetles there were no further encounters, The group camped for day two with no encounters and no sign of pursuit.

(Folsen the 3rd of Fessuran) The third day was easy travel with no encounters all the way to the ruined deep gnome village, where the group camped all of them eager to get out of the underdark. (This also marked the start of the Harvest's Close festival which passed quietly unnoticed in the gloom of the underdark.)

(Yulisen the 4th of Fessuran) The last day of travel the group makes their way back to the Lair. The group found some upgrades had taken place that Rindar had ordered. To safeguard the entrance to the underdark the Kobolds set spike traps and murder holes with alarms to notify if a force was coming from below. Upon their return they found the Kobolds hard at work mining and tunneling. Corvar requested a Shrine to Sarenrae, Which the kobolds were eager to assist with.The Party found out the escaped drow slaves did in fact make it back to the Lair and are under the care of Sabrea resting in the infirmary (they were a bit mistrustful of her and the Kryn as they looked so much like the Drow from the underdark that had imprisoned them, but Svela who happened to be training with the Kobolds reassured then and helped get them to the infirmary.



The party and freed prisoners made their way to report to watchmaster Bram and collected 500 gp reward for info on the underdark, and 2500gp for rescue of the 10 prisoners. Plus Ophielia has yet to reward Malik for rescuing Yirna and Eldeth from the Drow. The Artificer Wishes to stay with the Hucksters and repair things left by Huron. Nadiya Dmytrivna Havrysh the high priestess of Sarenrae de-curses the gems from the Lolth’s defiled shrine out of gratitude for saving her young acolyte Sabas Wyne. She also casts a blessing on the party. The freed drow prisoner Lexise Falcin went back to her old job as a trapper in and around the Crispvale Thicket while Yirna and Eldeth took a room in The Forest Inn waiting for the group so they could all travel to Grimgolier. Svela trains with the kobolds on some days and goes back into town other days to tend the horses and practice her riding, the trips up and down the mountain have really increased her stamina and strength.

Jodie Walker, and the small boy Blake, really have nowhere to go so are sort of hanging out in the Cave with Sabrea. Jodie is helping out in the kitchen, and Blake has been learning mining from the kobolds. The two are probably hoping to stay for a while before getting kicked out on the streets again. Elion Pazorwyn (Escaped Drow Slave) the Pallid Elf would really like to get back home but fears the underdark is much too dangerous with all the Demons running around loose. So he helps out where he can, not really sure what his next move should be. Phardrin Tasithar Archivist of Den Tasithar and Rindar are both trying to convince Sabrea to come back to Roshana for a proper soul alignment ritual, the process of anamnesi, and that the Kobold fixation is just a distraction. Sabrea doesn't want to leave her Kobolds, after all “…who would watch over them and care for them?” Rindar has gone back to Roshanna and says send word if the party needs him.
