Back in Mantol-Derith (Recap from 5-26-23) 

The party had a restful night on the Theurgeme with Lassryn Bronzepride serenading the crew, spreading calm emotions and ensuring dream protection through their long rest. (Yulisen the 17th of Duscar) The party had a nice breakfast, though with questionable yet unknown ingredients, but it was filling. The group left the ship for the passage into Mantol-Derith. The group sold the materials they had harvested and loot gained along the trip to Mantal-Derith gaining over 10,000 gp each in gems and coins. 


The Group, on entering the town, heard singing coming from a strange Inn named  “The Embarrassed Morning Glory Tavern” that was run by Gabble Dripskillet. The inn was located in the DeepGnome section of town and Lassryn immediately recognized Rystia’s singing. She ran toward the singing, the group entered the lively inn where Rystia was performing to an audience of Koutou, Deep Gnomes, Duergar and a few humans, as well as a couple of drow commoners. The group had some drinks and went in search of Ghazrim DuLoc, to get the purple mushroom powder that Ophelia Mardoon had wanted the party to acquire.  Also Ghazrim DuLoc gave Mallik a star sapphire ring that always points the direction to a secret library of Ioun in the underdark, where the party may find a way to get rid of the demons.


The Deep Gnome Peebles, not being able to convince the party to take him to the Drow and Myriad compounds secretly followed the party and as the guards were escorting the party into the residence, Peebles threw the open the door and  saw the Beholder in the room the party was talking with, then crying in glee he darted off to fetch his “Master”. Peebles was the deranged, neutral evil servant of Xazax the Eyemonger, a beholder that hunted other beholders, takes their eyestalks, and grafts them to its own body. Peebles is Xazax's private surgeon. Once he had confirmed the presence of a beholder in Mantol-Derith, He ran to find his "master" and share the news of his discovery. He then led the Eye Monger back to the Myriad Estate, where a battle commenced. The party fought the Eye Monger and after a long hard battle slayed him.



The group looted a leather pouch containing 992 gp, 29 pp. The party managed to harvest six Eye Stalks;  a Slow, a Charm, two Paralyzing, an Enervation  and a Sleep stalk. They also got the intact Central Eye, as well as Peebles “bag” that was made from stitched quaggoth hide and contained a pair of sharpened flint knives, a spool of thread made from roper gut, a thin iron needle, two pounds of barrelstalk flesh, and a copper canteen containing a half gallon of water. A small pouch with six, 50 gp gems. Out of appreciation for protecting him, Lorthuun (the good natured beholder), gifted the party ten gems worth 1000 gp each: [3 Black opal, 1 Fire opal, 3 Yellow sapphire, 1 Blue sapphire, 1 Star sapphire, 1 Opal].


After the battle with the Eye Monger, more warning alarms sounded throughout the town. The party looked around confused, as the battle they had just fought was over! However from out of the darkness came six Vrock demons swooping in for mayhem. The battle against a small demon hoard commenced. The other party members who stayed back at the Inn with Chardalyn (as she feared being recognized by the drow of House Baenre. The house that tried to have the patrol, Chardalyn was assigned to, ambushed and killed.) As the alarms sounded Rystia, Lassryn, Sladis, and Chardalyn ran to help their comrades. After a long very tough battle the heroes won the day with only one casualty, the drow Iraedriira of House Xorlarrin who was killed by one of the rampaging Vrocks. 



The party looted the battlefield, harvesting: five, Vrock Vocal Cords 40 gp ea., ten, Vrock Talons 20 gp ea. (act as +1 daggers), five, Vrock Feathers (small bundles) 20 gp ea. Along with 4129 cp, 576 sp, 1078 ep, 194 gp 832 gp. All loot came to 1158 gp each party member.


Kobold Mining Profits: For the previous three weeks during which the Kobolds mining efforts yielded 1600 gp worth of platinum ingots, 3800gp mithril ingots, 3600gp cut carnelian gems. (Subtracting the mine expenses for three weeks is 1536 gp, so each party member gets 1244 gp once they get back to the Hucksters Lair in Hupperdook. (also 8 new pups hatched and19 new eggs were laid in the lair)
