(Whelson the 23rd day of Misuthar) Back in their lair the group prepared for the journey back into the depths of the underdark. The two choices were: Bamph to Mantol Derith then take the Theurgeme across the dark lake and trek from there to the entrance of the Labyrinth, or Just strike out from the lair in Hupperdook and trek to the entrance that way.


Wanting to explore the underdark area nearest their lair, the group set off back into the underdark from their lair. They traveled for 10 days through the underdark collecting mushrooms as they went. On the trip they collected:


  • Ormu (x5), 100 to 400gp, (For planting in the lair)

  • Nightlight (x1), (For planting in the lair)

  • Timmask (x9) 5,000 to 8,000gp,

  • Ripplebark (x11), 100 to 400gp, (For planting in the lair)

  • Nilhogg's Nose (x9), 200 to 1200gp (For planting in the lair)

  • Zurkhwood (x6), (For planting in the lair)

  • Bluecap (x2) 900 to 1,200gp,(For planting in the lair)

  • Waterorb (x1) (For planting in the lair)


(Da’Leysen the 4rth of Dualahei) The group encountered a broken Gnoll named Gash that at first offered to “guide” the group through the labyrinth but after Chardalyn healed him, he warned the party of the Minotars, and urged them to leave. Once the party told him they were committed he reluctantly agreed to show them the safe way through. 




On the way they passed a 40 foot square Adamantine Fortress locked from the inside, Corin shot one of the stone gargoyles, which turned out to be REAL gargoyles. After the battle Elmo did identify and turns out to be a Daern's Instant Fortress, they went in to find the previous owner long dead, on exploring the four floors of the structure. They encountered 6 shadow demons which had apparently killed the previous owner and were locked in. After the battle the group continued on through the Labyrinth. The loot thus far:


  • Gargoyle Talons (x16), 10 gp,

  • Gargoyle Heart (x8), 40 gp,

  • Daern's Instant Fortress, modified to 40’ by 40’ with 4 floors counting the roof, The command word to open the front door or the trap door on the roof is "mimsy." The command word to transform the tower into a one-inch metal cube is "brillig," the command for the fire places in “slithy”,

  • empty potion bottles(x2) serve as enchanted vials, 25 gp, 

  • potion of mind reading(x1)


After three days the group arrived at the Filthriddens right around time to be looking for a camp. Filthriddens lies deeper in the Labyrinth 48 miles from the Spiral of the Horned King. The cavern that opens up ahead looks like a settlement, with tents and crudely built shanties lining its 


irregular walls. It appears deserted except for a lone human female kneeling within a circle of burning torchstalk mushrooms in the center of the cave and two ragged figures lurking near a zurkhwood door set into a wall thirty feet distant. The figure in the circle is praying over a rotting minotaur head but stands when she sees you. She's a thin human, and her face and arms are streaked with dry blood.


After a brief conversation with the insane cultist, Corovar bashed her brains in and battle ensued. 26 Ghouls were killed and 6 cultists as well as their leader Grisha. The cultists were worshiping Yeenoghu. Seems any living thing that dies here comes back as a ghoul. The group searched the shanty town and found nothing of value. The group consists of escaped Drow slaves and other refugees fleeing the Drow or Duergar, having lost their leader and seeing this powerful group of adventurers tearing through killing everything the remaining survivors hid in their hovels awaiting their deaths.


The group set up their instant fortress and bedded down for the night. leaving the survivors huddling terrified in their tents and shacks.


Kobold Mining Profits: For the previous weeks during which the Kobolds mining efforts yielded 12,000 gp worth of silver ingots and 4000gp cut gems [diamonds]. (Subtracting the mine expenses for the two weeks, 1168 gp), so each party member gets 2472 gp each. (Also the week ending the 28th of Misuthar, 9 new eggs were laid and 8 new pups were hatched in the lair warrens).

Xorhaus and the Underdark(Recap from 1-6-23) (Miresen the 24th of Sydenstar) Night: The party had a long, much needed rest in The Forest Inn after the combat at Stahlmasts Lair. Upon retiring for the night. Corin has a nightmare that he hasn't had in quite a while.
