Wedding Crashers (Recap from 9-8-23)

(Da’Leysen the 18th of Dualahei) The adventurers had succeeded, they achieved a great victory with four demon lords banished back to the Abyss. The creatures that were under the demon lords' influence will eventually return to normal. None of the demon lords are truly destroyed. Each demon lord reforms on its layer of the Abyss, never forgetting those responsible for their defeat.

The elimination of the Demon Queen of Fungi wins the adventurers the eternal gratitude of the surviving myconids of Neverlight Grove. Basidia quickly assumed leadership of the new grove, at the ritual site taking steps to heal the minds of those myconids afflicted by demonic corruption. The myconids also declared their intention to cleanse their home of Zuggtmoy's spore influence. Basidia and the myconids offered to meld with Araumycos to try to heal it and guide it back to wholeness, and through a celebration to honor the victory the group achieved over the Demon Queen of fungus. And the group was treated to an honored feast and soft comfortable place for a long rest in the new grove of the myconids.

(Miresen the 19th of Dualahei) The group then bamphed (teleported) back to the teleport circle in their hupperdook lair in time to join the Wild's Grandeur Festival (The Wild Mothers holy day following the Renewal Festival where Wildemounts spring season begins) in the town of Hupperdook the group bamphed to their warehouse in lower hupperdook and went to the festival enjoying the Grandeur festivities, before they returned to their lair up on the mountain. Where they continued crafting some items, exploring the updates to their lair complex and collecting some of the wealth earned by their kobold workers while they were gone. The group spent a week completing some crafting projects and Neheedra, with help from Chardalyn, had made everyone in the group greater piwafwi (Cloak of the Drowkind) which aside from stealth, gives protection from cold due to the Goristro hair she had woven in with the spidersilk. As a tribute to her lover Abnar, she embroidered the Invictus family crest on the inside of both her cloak, and Abnar’s cloak.

(Yulisen the 24th of Dualahei) The group uses teleport circles to bamph back to the Blingdenstone mage cavern under reconstruction by Flink Thunderboink, who was very happy to see the group again. After catching up a bit the group set off for Vizeran DeVir's Tower, to bring him the ingredients they had gathered for the ritual of summoning that would draw the demon lords together in one place.

The group took two days' travel to reach the tower arriving there the night of the second day, the next day Vizeran prepared the fetish called “the Dark Heart Talisman” for the group to place in Menzoberranzan. Supposedly this is the only place where all the demon lords could be affected since this was where the original summoning took place. The group decided to, rather than destroy most of Menzoberranzan, to place the fetish inside a tribute chest that the Sea hags were always demanding for safe passage every time the group tried to cross Darklake.

The group took the fetish and left Vizeran Tower looking for a place to scribe a teleport circle and bamph to Mantol-Derith. There they boarded the Therugeme for their clandestine trip across the dark lake hoping to rouse the interest of the sea hags. True to form as the party made their way through the second day of passage, approaching the entrance to the Blackrun river leading back to grimgolir, the sea hags appeared like clockwork and demanded the tribute. At which point the group handed over a chest of coins with the fetish hidden inside. The hags dragged the chest down into the murky depths, as the party messaged Vizeran and said to begin the ritual.

(Whelson the 28th of Dualahei) The party then acted like they were continuing their passage only to anchor a short ways away and generate a fog bank to hide the anchored ship. They didn't have to wait long as a swirling light began to flare in the darkness. A barely audible humming shook the group to the core, rising and falling like a vast heartbeat in the dark depths. The glow of faerzress gathered and brightened, creating swirling pools like holes torn in the air. A roar sound from far away as shadows move in the depths of those pools of light. The demons were coming. One by one the demon lords were drawn through the portals Baphomet, Demogorgon, Graz'zt, and Orcus, as well as numerous other demons also pouring through the portals. For a brief moment, all of the demons and demon lords were disoriented as they attempted to get their bearings after being pulled across the Underdark. Then as their gazes fell upon the sea hags and each other, they roared, bellowed, or shrieked with a hatred too deep for mortals to truly comprehend, and the terrible battle began.

The great battle for the underdark didn't last long, for the sea hags and their minions, as the demon lords literally ripped them limb from limb and went on to beat each other with the lifeless bodies one such strike ripped a sea hag in half sending the head and part of a torso sailing toward the Therugeme, Abnar and Mallik ducking out of the way as the corpse skittered across the deck.  It was a hellish battle Demon against Demon, minion against minion.
